Dance Together Project is all about fun and accessible partner dance lessons for beginners. Far from strictly ballroom, our genres offered include everything from Slow Dance 101 to Salsa, as well as Wedding Dance instruction and composition – tailored to the song(s) of your choice. All classes and events are beginner-friendly and will be tailored to all incoming skill level.
Dance Together Project is located at 10 Heintzman Street, in the Junction area of Toronto. Katya Kuznetsova, the founder and director of Dance Together Project, is a professional dance instructor and choreographer on a mission to facilitate enjoyable dance experiences for everybody, regardless of skill level or variations in physical ability.
Originally from the Russian Far East, Katya has trained in competitive ballroom dance since the age of eight-years-old. When she was in her teens, Katya moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where she studied Business Administration, Adult Education and a variety of dance styles including Jazz, Contemporary, Swing, Salsa and Afro-Cuban. During her decade in Alaska, Katya taught for the University of Alaska Anchorage Department of Theatre and Dance and founded and co-directed Ritmovida Dance Partnership – the first Salsa dance company in the state.
Since moving to Toronto, Canada in 2009 and earning a Masters of Fine Arts in Dance Dramaturgy and Choreography, Katya has worked as an independent dance artist, teacher and choreographer. In addition to her dance classes located at 10 Heintzman St., Katya co-produces the annual Dance Together Festival and designs and leads specialized dance workshops for seniors and mixed abilities groups. Katya also has professional affiliations with Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists, Canadian Dance Assembly, and Neighbourhood Arts Network.
