Vernacular Jazz with Hannah

Vernacular Jazz with Hannah

Embrace the music and movement of the swing era in this vernacular jazz dance class. Vernacular jazz encompasses solo dances that originated alongside swing music in the early 20th century. In this class, you'll learn some foundational moves, and explore how to use them to let loose and dance to swing music. No prior dance experience required.

Hannah Bild-Enkin is a lindy hop and vernacular jazz social dancer, performer, choreographer, and instructor based in Toronto. Originally training in tap, ballet, and figure skating, Hannah fell in love with swing era dances in 2011. She enjoys the improvisational nature of jazz music and dancing, and continues to find inspiration in the relationship that music and dance have with each other.
