Dance Together Festival

The Dance Together Festival offers free open-air dance workshops and events that celebrate positive and accessible dance experiences. The festival is co-produced by a creative team of local dance and visual artists and is part of Toronto’s Arts in the Parks programming and Ontario Culture Days. The festival transforms public locations into open dance spaces with free workshops, vibrant dance floor murals, live music, performances and social dancing! Dance styles include Vernacular Jazz, Latin Fusion, Cuban Salsa, West African, Indigenous Contemporary, Vogue, Hip Hop, Soca and Inclusive Dance. Open to all ages and abilities.

In 2023, Dance Together Festival York Region won the Best in Person Program Spotlight Recognition Award from Ontario Culture Days. This award recognizes organizers who offered creative in-person participation that resulted in an enriching, but safe and welcoming audience experience.

The festival is supported by Toronto Arts Council, Toronto Arts Foundation, Arts in the Parks, York Region Arts Council and Assembly Park VMC, as well as community partners Lakeshore Arts, Mimico BIA, City of Vaughan, City of Richmond Hill, and Richmond Hill Public Library.
